
Our menu is carefully created by our award winning Chef/Owner Nick Hemming using only local seasonal ingredients from the South West. Each dish is cooked to order by the team at The Heron with flavour being the priority for our customers. You will find a great choice of daily specials that change dependant on seasonality and availablility.
You can follow Nick at the food festivals in the South West where he is a popular face on the chefs theatre stage, including the Padstow Christmas Festival. Nick has been cooking for over 36 years and has a passion for fresh fish. His recipes are frequently published in magazines, local press & books, including The Great Cornish Food Book, Taste of the West Country, Padstow Festival Cookbook & The Flavour Fest Cookbook.

The Heron Inn recently won Highly Commended at the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2019, Taste of the West Gold Award for Best Dining Pub 2017/18. The judges were really impressed with the quality of food being served and the approach to only using local produce.
In January 2019, The Heron Inn was awarded "Food Pub of the Year" at the prestigous St Austell Brewery Estate Awards Dinner. The judges were impressed by the continued strategy and growth of the business and the focus on customer service, fabulous fresh food using local ingredients as well as a great selection of beers and wines.

Click on the links below to take a look at our seasonal menus. We offer a fantastic Sunday Roast using sublime ruby red beef & pork loin. These roasts change each week so book early to avoid disappointment.
PLEASE NOTE: Our breakfast menu will not be available during the winter but will be back in time for Easter! However, we will be open from 10.00am serving tea, coffee and cakes.
Please note: Our aim to serve roasts up to 5pm. However, this can change due to customer demand, so we would highly recommend booking early to reduce the risk of the roasts selling out. We also run our full menu on a Sunday throughout winter. During January & February, we will be closed on Sunday evenings from 5pm.
